Health Informatics Centre

The Health Informatics Centre (HIC) performs research, education and development in health informatics. Our research focuses on integrated patient-centred information systems for collaborative care, decision support and decision making, and patient e-services. We apply a sociotechnical approach, combining technical and methodological research with research on how implementation and use of eHealth affects roles, relationships and tasks for patients and healthcare professionals. ki.se/hic

Duties

The applicant will join our research on policy implementation of eHealth strategies and eHealth implementation and evaluation. The applicant will specifically work on a research project regarding eHealth implementation (in particular electronic health records) in South Africa. Engagement as teaching assistant in the global master’s programme in health informatics at KI might be required to a certain extent.

Entry requirements

The applicant should hold a BSc or MSc degree in biomedical or health informatics, computer science with medicine as application area or health science with complementary technical education.  

The applicant has to be fluent in English, speaking and writing. Good skills in manuscript writing are required. Very good knowledge on socio-technical approaches for eHealth design and implementation, evaluation methods and eHealth strategies is required. A solid understanding of eHealth infrastructures, electronic health records and other eHealth tools is necessary.

The candidate should be highly motivated, reliable, meticulous and cooperative but with an ability to work independently.
