Division
The Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology (CLINTEC) operates at the Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge. There are 14 units at CLINTEC. The activities include clinical research, education and development. We work with undergraduates, graduate students, exchange students in ERASMUS program, postdoctoral researchers, educators and scientists at Karolinska Institutet and organizations with a common vision of excellence in research, education and development. 

The division has a high-energy, dynamic, and interactive environment and is interested in recruiting a self-motivated individual with the drive to succeed and the desire to be competitive at the international level. The laboratory, at the Advanced Centre of Translational and Regenerative Medicine (ACTREM) investigates on the development of both natural and synthetic (degradable and non-degradable) scaffolds to engineer organs and different tissues of the thorax, such as the trachea, lung, esophagus, heart, chest wall or the diaphragm. We are also investigating cell therapy in acute and chronic lung diseases and resident/cancer stem cells that can play a role towards in situ regeneration and wound healing.

Duties
As a Laboratory Technician you will be working with cell culture, including human primary cells, stem cells and routine cell biology techniques (qPCR, fluorescence microscopy).
You will also be responsible for the operational work of the laboratory which includes:

  • keeping laboratory daily records
  • teaching new students e.g. cell culture, immunohistochemistry etc.

Entry requirements
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate, who is able to design and execute scientific experiments independently and willing to contribute to the laboratory as a team member.
The candidate should have experience of laboratory methods and relevant prerequisite for the presented duties.
Experience with stem cell culture and differentiation techniques e.g. embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells and bone marrow stem cells is meritorious. Aswell as a background in molecular biology, flow cytometry and histology, lenti- or retro-viruses technologies.
