The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The clinical research and education is conducted in collaboration with Region Stockholm as well as other research groups from Karolinska Institutet and other universities.

Division
The Division of Psychology, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, has about 100 employees, where many work with the 5-year psychology program that the department has been running since 2007. Research is carried out in approximately 15 research groups, investigating pre-clinical and clinical research questions in psychology (https://ki.se/en/cns/research-at-the-division-of-psychology). The psychology program at KI is based on a so-called scientist-practitioner model, which means that the students will gain good methodological skills and knowledge that enables scientifically-based clinical work.  

Duties
The position is focused on education and research. The Senior Lecturer will be responsible for psychology program courses in perception psychology, neuroscience focusing on the use of brain imaging methods, and have an overall responsibility for the division’s international research preparatory courses. The lecturer is expected to conduct research in the field of human neuroscience and perception psychology and be active in postgraduate education. 

Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for employment as a Senior Lecturer, in addition to holding a PhD or having equivalent scientific expertise, the person must have demonstrated research- and teaching expertise, as well as management-, development- and collaborative skills (See the instructions regarding the Appointment Procedure for Teachers at Karolinska Institutet). The person shall also have completed 10 weeks (or equivalent competence) of higher education training in teaching in accordance with Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions recommendations for qualification as a higher education teacher or having otherwise obtained equivalent knowledge.

Because the position includes an overall responsibility for the division’s international research preparatory courses, and in accordance with KI’s endeavor to increase internationalization within its program, the applicant shall have extensive international experience in teaching and research. The applicant must have good knowledge of Swedish and English.  

Bases of assessment 
The Senior Lectureship has focus on education and research. The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: research expertise (3), educational expertise (3), leadership-, development- and collaboration expertise (2).

Documented and extensive research- and teaching experience of human brain imaging techniques with focus on perception psychology is meriting.

After an overall assessment of the candidates merits and expertise KI will judge which of the candidates that have the best potential to contribute to a positive development of the activities.
