The Cell and Gene Therapy Group is a multidisciplinary research group with 20 members, including senior scientists, PhD students, technical and biomedical lab staff, and administration at ANA Futura, Campus Flemingsberg, working in a translational research environment. Our group’s primary research focus is to optimize and clinically adapt strategies to retarget NK cells to tumors with limited off-target effects and toxicity profiles.
The research project will be pre-clinical translational research in cancer immunotherapy focusing on development of optimal off-the-shelf NK cell-based immunotherapies.
The aim of this project is to elucidate the impact of different chimeric proteins and mutants thereof on effector cell differentiation to understand the role of tonic signaling during hematopoiesis and differentiation.
The researcher will focus on culture and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells and carry out gene editing, as well as transient and lentiviral gene modifications in order to compare the impact of different activation and transcriptional pathways on NK cell differentiation, maturation, and ultimately, function.
To be eligible for employment as a Postdoctoral Researcher the applicant must have obtained a doctorate or have equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
We are looking for a highly motivated, structured and scientifically driven researcher with a PhD degree in Immunology, Cell Biology or Hematopoiesis, ideally with proven skills in cellular immunology and/or hematopoiesis research. Excellent proficiency in English, both oral and written is required. Applicants should have a strong track record of scientific accomplishment and publications in the advancement of new therapeutic concepts.
The position requires extensive experience in pluripotent stem cell cultures and experience in iPSC reprogramming is a strong merit. Furthermore, experience with multiparameter flow cytometry cell sorting, cell culture, and genome editing is meriting. Experience with CRISPR gene editing and NGS library preparation, expertise with liquid handling automation technologies and experience in setting up cell-based analytical assays, such as transcriptional, metabolic, and phenotypic profiling are critical. In addition, we believe that the successful candidate will have a strong background in immunology or hematopoiesis.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present results clearly, work co-operatively as part of a team as well as independently, with strong attention to detail are also essential. We will accord special weight to academic skills, particularly demonstrated excellence in research. Personal suitability is of great importance when evaluating the applicants.
We are looking for a researcher who has a strong work ethic, passion for solving difficult questions and challenges with the ability to design, plan, perform, and interpret original experiments in an independent and innovative environment. The candidates should be forward thinking, have high integrity and be open to the multicultural setting they are going to be working in.
