The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science. The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.

Part of the success of our department is due to our collaborative spirit where one factor is that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and an applied biostatistics group). The department is situated at campus Solna. Further information can be found at http://ki.se/en/meb

Division
The eating disorders research group is a new entity at MEB and has been established under the auspices of the Swedish Research Council to create a World Center for Innovation in Eating Disorders Research at Karolinska Institutet. Our interdisciplinary work spans disciplines and aims to enhance knowledge about the causes, treatments, and prevention of eating disorders.

Duties
This research project aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of genetic and environmental factors that contribute to anorexia nervosa via an in-depth study of identical twins who are discordant for the illness. Individuals eligible to be employed as a postdoctoral researcher should have completed their PhD studies within the last seven years. Individuals who graduated earlier could be considered under special circumstances.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD in psychology or related disciplines and have experience working and doing research with individuals with eating disorders. The applicant should be a licensed psychologist. The applicant should be familiar with neuropsychological testing, structured psychiatric diagnostic interviews, microdialysis procedures, fMRI, and genetic and biomarker studies. Fluency in Swedish is a necessity for patient interaction and a track record in writing scientific publications in English is preferred.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as postdoctoral research fellow if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.

The position is for 2 years.
