The Department of Laboratory Medicine is one of Karolinska Institutet’s largest departments with 7 research divisions including the Division for Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine (BCM) where the project will be carried out. The laboratory used by the Stephan Mielke research group is located in the new research facility ANA Futura, which provides all the equipment and infrastructure needed for cellular and molecular biology research.

The Division of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine (BCM)
BCM consists of several research groups and core facilities. Activities are translational in nature and include fundamental molecular cell biology studies, pre-clinical testing of therapy/ diagnostic agents and related activities, certified production of cell products for clinical use, phenotypical analysis of cells and tissues as well as clinical studies of patients treated with cell therapy agents.

Professor Stephan Mielke’s research group works on cancer immunotherapy.

Duties and qualifications
The applicant should have a Master’s degree in the field of engineering, preferably in pharmaceutical engineering. The applicant should have a solid background in molecular biology or biotechnology. A broader experience with ATMPs including CAR-T cells is considered an advantage.

The applicant will work in the research laboratory in close contact with the Karolinska University Hospital, the GMP facility and the preGMP facility. Therefore practical lab experience, preferably with cellular immunotherapy, is appreciated.

The position encompasses a part-time employment as a project coordinator for SWECARNET, Sweden’s CAR-T cell competence network. SWECARNET has created a platform and network for the clinical use of CAR-T cells in Sweden with the aim to improve CAR-T cell therapies across the country. As a project coordinator the main tasks are to plan, coordinate and execute projects related to SWECARNET such as training days and meetings. Furthermore, it is important that you have good communicating skills and previous experience of project management.

In addition, excellent proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English is highly desired. We are looking for an energetic and passionate person who fits in and actively contributes to our team.
