The department of Medicine, Huddinge conducts graduate and post-graduate education, as well as research, within a wide range of the medical field, covering all internal medicine specialties, infectious diseases, and dermatology. The department consists of seven units with nearly 60 research groups, including three research centers. Our ambition is to be the leading department for medical research and education.

Our working environment

Nahi Lab is a world-leading cross disciplinary team investigating multiple myeloma to dissect the pathways and chromosomal aberrations involved in pathogenesis of disease. Our group has excelled in epidemiology and has performed large clinical trials. We have a strong track record, with its research being funded by various national Swedish and international collaborative projects. We provide a dynamic and cutting-edge research environment encompassing basic to clinical research.

Description of the project

The research project will be pre-clinical translational research in cancer biology focusing on the validation of resistance mechanism of multiple myeloma. The aim of this project is to elucidate the impact of different pathways and genes on progression of mutiple myeloma.

The postdoc researcher will use his or her knowledge and experience in cancer cell biology to work on in vitro validation aspects of a therapeutic gene editing project. This includes culture and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and carrying out gene editing experiments to validate target hypotheses.
