We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral student with a background in cell biology and/or molecular biology with an understanding of physiology.  Strong interest in translational research spanning the gap between basic and clinical science is required. Deeper understanding of anesthesiology/critical care and muscle physiology is advantageous. The work is performed in an international group of researchers, post-docs, engineer, and research technicians with extensive international collaborations. Applicant will be trained in unique experimental models and benefit from working in a collaborative environment.

Your mission

Our mission is to unravel mechanisms underlying the acquired myopathies associated with modern critical care (long-term mechanical ventilation and immobilization), develop/evaluate intervention strategies, and translate promising interventions to the clinic.  This work involves unique experimental intensive care unit model and methods to analyze skeletal muscle and motor protein function together with omics analyses.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
