Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Eidsmo laboratory focus on basic pathogenic mechanisms by which skin T cells drive chronic inflammatory diseases.  We are recruiting a postdoctoral fellow to work in a project dealing with different aspects of human skin T cell immunology. The work is based on cutting edge laboratory based immunological, molecular biological and genetic research performed in the laboratory at CMM, Karolinska Institutet.

Your mission

The fellow will participate in formulating and testing scientific hypothesis with experimental work, presentations and preparation of publications.  The fellow will be responsible for academic, research and administrative activities and expected to adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques, test hypotheses and analyze data from a variety of sources. The studies will include work on basic biology of tissue resident T cells in healthy human skin and how these cells contribute to tissue pathology in chronic inflammatory and malignant skin diseases. The fellow will work on clinical material for ex vivo, in vitro and xenotransplant in vivo model systems. The postdoctoral fellow will be immersed in a successful, interdisciplinary collaboration between laboratory head Dr. Liv Eidsmo and Dr. Keira Melican, Neuroscience Karolinska, Stockholm, Sweden. The position requires attendance and contribution to laboratory meetings, communication of results to the principal investigators and co-workers, and to maintain accurate and detailed experimental records. The candidate is expected to supervise students and be involved in some administrative tasks in the lab. Besides working on existing lab projects, postdocs are also encouraged to write grant to start their own new projects. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment for development of independent scientists.
