Do you want to contribute to better health for all?

The post-doctoral candidate will have the opportunity to join our research group at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, where we are focused on the molecular mechanisms that regulate auditory function with a particular emphasis on noise-induced tinnitus. In particular, we are highly focused on how the auditory synapse influences the vulnerability to tinnitus generation. To do so, we use a multidisciplinary approach that centers on using recently developed mutant mouse models in conjunction with whole animal physiology (ABR and DPOAE), light and confocal techniques, and behavioral measures to understand the relationship between the cochlea and the central auditory system. Understanding these relationships will be key for increasing fundamental knowledge in the mechanisms of tinnitus.

Your mission

The primary activities will be to demonstrate the reliability of this mouse model for noise-induced tinnitus using the above-mentionned techniques. This includes good lab practice in experimental archiving, analyzing data, preparation of figures, and preparation of a manuscript.
