The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science. The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.

Part of the success of our department is due to our collaborative spirit where one factor is that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and an applied biostatistics group). Division
The position is in the biostatistics group. The primary activities of the biostatistics group include (i) own research in design and analysis of population-based studies, genetic epidemiology and molecular epidemiology, (ii) collaboration with medical researchers, and (iii) biostatistics teaching both at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Duties
To qualify, the applicant must hold or expect to receive a PhD degree in biostatistics, statistics or a related discipline with a strong competence in computational methods. The position would suit applicant who are interested in developing a career in the intersection of statistics, computing and biosciences. The successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary research team with collaboration with clinical research groups, particularly in genetic and molecular epidemiology. The applicant should be able to work closely with this interdisciplinary team and to acquire the necessary medical, biological and epidemiological knowledge as necessary to make meaningful contributions.

Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The term can be extended under special circumstances.
