CPE has decades of experience in this research area and is involved in several national, Nordic, and international studies focusing on medication use during pregnancy and the benefits and consequences for mother and child.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will join the research team of assistant professor Carolyn Cesta, and lead pharmacoepidemiologic studies on the use and safety of GLP-1 receptor agonists and other pharmacotherapy for type 2 diabetes and obesity in pregnancy. You are expected to take a leading role in the entire research process, including development the study design and methodological approach, protocol writing, project management, ethics and data order applications, preparation and analysis of large-scale datasets, manuscript writing, and dissemination of research findings, under supervision and in collaboration with members of the project team. The position provides close collaboration with experienced pharmacoepidemiologists, biostatisticians, clinicians, and Nordic/international partners. You are expected to take an active role in research-related activities (e.g., weekly meetings, seminars, etc) at CPE and in the Division of Clinical Epidemiology, and to contribute to studies led by other team members. You will have the opportunity to participate in mentoring activities (e.g., supervising Master’s student thesis projects) and to contribute to some of the ongoing regulatory-mandated post-authorization safety studies at CPE. There is also an opportunity to develop independent research ideas within the field.
