As a postdoctoral researcher, you will join the Kallioniemi group in the Seashore-Ludlow research team, working at the interface of cancer biology, functional precision medicine, and technology development. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on translational research, directly contributing to the development of personalized therapeutic strategies for ovarian cancer.

Your mission

In this project you will be working in multidisciplinary team to advance personalized therapies for patients with ovarian cancer. The projects focus on drug repositioning for ovarian cancer using patient-derived cell models and the development of new high-content imaging assays to characterize primary patient samples and patient-near disease models.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

Qualifications:

  • A successful candidate should be highly ambitious and motivated.
  • Hands-on experience with primary human cell culture and high content microscopy is required and experience in high-throughput drug screening, and image analysis are highly valued.
  • The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to independently plan, execute, and manage experimental research projects, including project management.
  • The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be comfortable working in a team-science–oriented research environment, and exhibit a structured, responsible, and self-driven working style.

Merits:

  • Experience in analyzing large datasets, expertise in molecular biology techniques, drug mechanism of action and precision cancer medicine are merits.
  • Knowledge in the field of drug discovery and development and ovarian cancer are merits.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required, while proficiency in Swedish is considered an advantage.

The candidate is expected to maintain excellent laboratory practices and contribute positively to the research environment, including serving as a role model for junior researchers.
