The Dagliyan laboratory investigates experience-driven protein signaling mechanisms in the mouse brain and develops new technologies to probe these processes. Our interdisciplinary program explores neuronal activity–dependent molecular signaling across multiple time scales, from rapid synaptic modifications to longer-term gene expression changes that underlie behaviorally induced plasticity.
The Dagliyan lab is part of the Unit of Molecular Neurobiology, which brings together outstanding scientists using interdisciplinary approaches in a collaborative and stimulating environment. The unit is within the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics and is housed in the Biomedicum research building, which provides modern technology platforms and opportunities for cross-disciplinary interaction.
You will support the group’s efforts to unravel molecular mechanisms of protein signaling in the mouse brain during behavior. Responsibilities include performing electrophysiology experiments, analyzing data, and presenting results. You will work closely with postdoctoral fellows in the lab and with collaborating neighboring laboratories; training and technical support will be provided to learn new methods, if needed.
Position overview
Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position in Onur Dagliyan’s Group at the Division of Molecular Neurobiology. We welcome applicants who hold an M.S. degree or who expect to receive an M.S. degree within the next two months. The candidates with experience in electrophysiology, specifically patch-clamp and/or field-potential recordings from mouse brain slices will be prioritized.
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to study the molecular and circuit mechanisms of synaptic plasticity using electrophysiological approaches.
