The Department of Biosciences and Nutrition performs research and education in several areas of medical sciences including cancer biology, aging, molecular endocrinology, functional genomics, systems biology, structural biology, protein biochemistry, immunology, and nutrition. It offers an excellent international research and working environment, including around 200 scientists, students, administrative and technical personnel. The Department resides in Neo at Campus Flemingsberg, a biomedical research building, aimed at being a creative and open environment that enables meetings, synergies, and exploration of areas of mutual interest across disciplines.

The Fan lab at BioNut department investigates chromatin remodelling mechanisms in the contexts of  metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver and cardiovascular diseases. We combine cell and animal models with state-of-the-art molecular biology and sequencing tools in our studies, with the major aims to increase our understandings of the diseases and to identify novel intervention targets or strategies. Your mission

We are looking for a research assistant to help our PhD and postdoc colleagues with the daily tasks of cell culture, mouse genotyping, molecular cloning, and gene or protein expression analysis.

Your profile

The candidate should have a recent Master degree in biomedicine, biochemistry or cell biology (or other relevant subjects) during 2021-2023. He or she needs to be familiar with mammalian cell culture and molecular cloning and should also know the basic steps of real-time PCR and western blot. Skills in R programming will be a huge plus.
