We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher with a strong passion for conducting research that strives to contribute to the quality of life and mental wellbeing of individuals with Neurodevelopmental Conditions. As part of a European consortium - Risk and Resilience in Developmental Diversity and Mental Health (R2D2-MH) – we are conducting research which aims to improve the mental health outcomes of young people with these challenges. The postdoctoral position will examine the factors related to risk and resilience for adverse health and psychosocial outcomes in by developing International of Classification of Functioning (ICF) core sets for risk and resilience in this population. In addition, the postdoc interacts with researchers in the European Consortium and contributes to other work packages investigating resilience.

This 3-year postdoctoral position will contribute to the outcomes R2D2-MH. Based on a multiscale study of resilience factors - from biology to psychological and societal factors, R2D2-MH will provide innovative approaches to increase the quality of life of individuals with Neurodevelopmental Disorders. KIND is one of 22 consortium members of R2D2-MH contributing to this aim.
Your postdoctoral position will focus on the co-creation of ICF Core sets - shortlists of ICF codes - for risk and resilience in neurodevelopmental conditions, identifying the most significant and shared factors related to risk and resilience for adverse health and psychosocial outcomes in Neurodevelopmental Disorders. The development of these ICF core sets will involve a systematic review of the resilience and risk literature using corpus methods, an internal expert survey, a qualitative study with multiple stakeholders, real-life domain studies of persons with neurodevelopmental conditions. The developed core sets will be used to derive diagnostic tools, test batteries and quantitative scales for risk and resilience assessment. You will also work to link databases formed as part of the broader project to the ICF and will interface with other work packages of R2D2-MH.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
It is a requirement that your doctorate (or equivalent) be within a subject area of relevance to neurodevelopmental disorders, and it is highly desirable that you have documented experience with the ICF, including familiarity with ICF linking methodologies as outlined by the World Health Organization (WHO). Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, especially related you psychometrics and instrument development/evaluation, including excellent skills in working with standard data analytic software is required, with experience in co-production and co-design methodologies also considered a merit. As this project requires communication and interaction with multiple stakeholders abroad, a high level of proficiency in verbal and written English is also necessary. As a postdoctoral researcher, you should have a developing record of accomplishment, demonstrated by the publication of research outputs in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
We expect you to contribute actively and constructively to the development of our projects and that you have great collaborative ability. You are expected to be able to work both team-based as well as on your own. The preferred candidate will be motivated, responsible, and hardworking.
