Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Sundling Research Team focuses on understanding the immune response to different pathogens with the aim to find biomarkers to better distinguish them on a molecular level. We are now recruiting a postdoctoral researcher who will focus on biomarker discovery in samples from individuals with or without infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). The studies involve bioinformatic analysis of different types of immunological datasets, with a focus on data integration and biomarker discovery. The studies are based on well characterized cohorts recruited in Sweden and via collaborators.

Your mission

The postdoctoral researcher will investigate immunological signatures associated with Mtb infection status. The project will include analysis and visualization of large datasets and potential integration of different types of data. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in all parts of the projects, ranging from generating own research ideas, some laboratory work, data analysis, supervision of students, statistical analysis, and writing scientific publications.

Your profile

The candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree in the field of biomedicine or bioinformatics. The applicant should have knowledge and practical experience of bioinformatic analysis of immunological datasets, using R. It is advantageous if the candidate also has previous experience of working with infectious diseases and especially Mtb.

The group is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious postdoctoral researcher. The candidate is expected to be organized and able to work independently. The project is pursued in an interdisciplinary environment with collaboration with several international research groups, and good collaborative skills are a requirement. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
