Our group does research on precision cancer medicine with the aim of optimizing treatments for individual cancer patients based on molecular profiling and functional drug testing. Our goal is to develop a systems biology framework to match targeted therapies and drug combinations using omics- profiling and drug testing.
Your mission is to enable discoveries from our image-based data collected in high content high throughput microscopy experiments to understand the cellular impact of drug response and toxicity. Your tasks will include assisting our researchers in image analysis, including building and maintaining analytical pipelines for machine learning approaches and visualizing data. You will be expected to communicate and present your results clearly in English.
You hold an MSc in a relevant field, such as bioinformatics, biotechnology or related field. You have previous experience on image analysis of cells, specifically on high throughput microscopy or digital pathology and familiarity with implementing machine learning approaches, including deep learning. You are able to take instructions but also work independently to carry out analysis on your own. You are fluent English language and are eager to work in a cross disciplinary and international team.

Your work will be carried out at the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), that is a leading national infrastructure for next-generation life science research in Sweden. SciLifeLab is jointly operated by the four host universities: Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University and Uppsala University, and it has facilities in four other universities across Sweden. There are over 1 000 people working at SciLifeLab, either in research groups or in the infrastructure facilities, most of them in the KI Solna campus and in Uppsala. This position resides at the Solna campus.
The employment is a temporary position for 1 year with a possibility for extension.
