The biostatistics group at MEB, KI comprises 4 professors, 3 senior lecturers, 5 PhD-level statisticians, 4 masters-level statisticians, and 7 doctoral students. The group is involved in a wide variety of research projects, including population-based cohort and case-control studies, twin and family studies, survival analyses, predictive modeling, genetic epidemiology and bioinformatics.

Your mission

Duties will include the methodological work on statistical models of breast tumour progression and patient survival, as well as the analysis of epidemiological and clinical data. This is a part-time position of 20% for one year, with possibility of extension.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.

The position requires a university degree in statistics/mathematics/computer science and a PhD degree with focus on biostatistics. Experience in mixed effects modeling or survival analysis would be ideal. Applicants should have demonstrated competence in developing statistical methodology and in developing software tools in R or Stata.
