At the Department of Oncology-Pathology basic, translational and clinical research and educational activities related to cancer is carried out. Approximately 300 people from over 40 nations are currently working at the department. About 30 research groups with various cancer research profiles are active at the department and we have around 110 PhD students. The Department of Oncology-Pathology is responsible for undergraduate courses in Pathology, Oncology and Forensic Medicine for medical students, as well as for Tumor biology courses for biomedicine students and Pathology courses for opticians.
A research coordinator position is available in the Cancer proteomics Mass spectrometry research group, headed by Professor Janne Lehtiö at Science for Life Laboratory Karolinska Institutet is one of the four founding universities for SciLifeLab, a national infrastructure and research center for technology-driven life sciences. The Lehtiö group is a translational group of scientists with the aim of improving human protegenomic analysis by developing new methods that can be applied to improve personalized cancer treatment. The Lehtiö research group is a partner in several EU-projects and an active member of the Cancer Core Europe consortium. We are leading the proteomics work and the development of the clinical implementation tool: The Molecular Tumor Board Portal together with Tamborero. The research group is also closely associated with the Clinical Proteomics Mass Spectrometry facility, which provides fee-for-service sample analysis and support for the design and implementation of larger in-depth proteomics projects.
We are looking for an outstanding Research Coordinator to join our clinical proteomics research group. You will play a key role in managing a portfolio of EU-projects, overseeing scientific tasks and coordinating interactions with external collaborators, while strengthening our international presence. You will work closely with our group and the partners and coordinators of the EU-projects to facilitate the successful execution of the activities and to assist in the identification of new funding opportunities. The work will also include scientific outreach activities and dissemination of results. The work is a combination of administrative and communicative tasks and places great emphasis on organisation, planning, independence, initiative, and precision. In summary, project coordination, interdisciplinary networking and outreach are central components of the work.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a structured and service-oriented quick thinker who can have many activities running simultaneously. It is required that you have experience in writing funding applications and coordinating research and innovation projects in an international context.
