We are currently looking for an ambitious, highly motivated candidate with a solid background in molecular biology, electrophysiology, and neuropsychopharmacology to join the research group of Assistant Prof. Hugo Zeberg.
The postdoctoral researcher will investigate a series of experimental G protein-coupled receptor ligands using electrophysiology methods. The overall goal is to increase the understanding of drug-receptor-interactions of clinically relevant ligands.
The project is focused on laboratory investigations of antipsychotic drugs and related ligands. For these purposes, the dopamine, serotonin, and muscarinic receptors will be used in the studies. In addition, genetic variants of these receptors, with relevance for clinical conditions and/or drug binding, will be studied.
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent.
We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest for neuropsychopharmacology, both from a clinical standpoint but also experimentally. The ideal candidate has theoretical and practical experience from the above mentioned techniques including animal experimentation, two-electrode voltage-clamp, molecular biology and pharmacological assays. In addition, a strong applicant has experience from working with genetically modified G protein-coupled receptors. Considering the clinical relevance of the research, a medical background is seen as an advantage.
