The Department of Medicine, Solna, is one of the largest departments at Karolinska Institutet and consists of several divisions that are separated into different research groups. The Clinical epidemiology division is centered around clinical epidemiology where population-based health care data, often supplemented with information from medical records, biological samples and surveys, are used to address questions that aim to improve patient health care and clinical practice. The projects conducted at the division typically have a strong clinical anchoring.

We are now looking for a highly motivated part-time (50%) research coordinator with good programming skills to join our cancer epidemiology group in an ongoing national collaboration for register-based research in lymphoma.

Your mission

The candidate will perform database management and statistical programming and in studies that aim to increase the understanding of lymphoma survival and survivorship issues. The candidate will also contribute to the planning of forthcoming epidemiological studies for example by assisting in the development of study protocols and statistical analysis plans (SAPs), programming and manuscript writing process.

The work will be performed in collaboration with oncologists, hematologists and biostatisticians from Karolinska Institutet and other national collaborators. The candidate will be part of this multidisciplinary research team.

The working language for this position is English.

Your profile

The successful applicant should have a Master degree in epidemiology or biostatistics with sufficient knowledge in statistical programming to perform advanced survival analysis using statistical software (R, SAS or Stata). Experience from working with the Swedish health registers in observational epidemiological studies, and experience and a strong interest in reproducible research is a requirement. Prior experience with lymphoma research is a merit.

Excellent knowledge of spoken and written scientific English and strong presentation skills are essential. In the assessment of the candidates, we place particular emphasis on interpersonal skills.
