The Santini lab is interested in understanding molecular and synaptic activity of the basal ganglia and how alterations of these physiological functions are responsible for different neuropathological conditions. To this end, we employ genetic mouse models (i.e. movement disorders, drug addiction and neurodevelopmental disorders) of neuropsychiatric disorders and a variety of cutting edge technology (i.e. confocal and 2-photon imaging, behavioral analysis, fiber photometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular and cell biology standard technique).

Your mission

The candidate is expected to learn synaptic physiology or molecular/cellular techniques. He/She will have a defined project within a long-term study. The candidate is also expected to be an active player within a scientific group with presentation of his/her results in lab meetings, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and take part in scientific discussions. We will of course provide training so that these expectations are met in a timely manner.

Your profile

Candidates applying for this position should hold a Bachelor Degree in Science (or equivalent) and have previous laboratory experiences in neuroscience. Previous publications are important but not necessary for this position.

The candidates should be highly organized and ambitious with excellent communication skills in English. Interpersonal skills are essential and we emphasize the person’s ability as a team player and contributing to a friendly work environment.
