Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Division of Neurogeriatrics
The division of neurogeriatrics is located both at Campus Solna and Campus Flemingsberg. The research is focused on translational research in neurodegenerative diseases, in particular Alzheimer disease. The Health Economics unit is one of the research groups located at KI BioClinicum in Solna.

The Project and the Research Group
ADDITION, a multinational research project led by Karolinska Institutet, aims to develop an individualized prognosis and cost-effectiveness model of Alzheimer disease. This model will support both clinical decision-making and care planning at the individual level, as well as resource allocation and cost-effectiveness assessments at the macro level. The model will be developed by integrating data from existing disease registries and cohorts in five EU countries with de-novo collection of data on patient outcomes including quality of life using a combination of statistical and machine learning methods to simulate individual patient trajectories across the full duration of disease. Currently the group has seven members including senior scientists, postdoctors and graduate students with a broad interdisciplinary background. We now want to expand the group with a postdoctor position for two years with possibilty of extension.

Your mission
You will, together with senior scientists at KI and other consortium members, lead the development of a novel health economic simulation model based on the integrated databases in the ADDITION project. You are expected to have a strong drive to pursue registry-based research, and an ambitious and innovative attitude. The projects are pursued in collaboration with several research groups, and good collaborative skills are necessary.

Your profile
Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate. For this position the doctorate should be in health economics, epidemiology or similar topic.
You should have good knowledge and experience from development of health economic models. Good ability to speak and write English is also a requirement. Experience from neurodegenerative diseases is a merit.
