Duties
This postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the research group of Dr. Margaret Sällberg Chen. The position is for a scientist with excellent skills in advanced cell sorting techniques for studies of human innate-like lymphocytes. This includes in-dept knowledge of human lymphocytes, and practical skills in isolation of circulating and tissue-resident lymphocytes. He or she must have documented experience in study design of immune phenotyping and functional studies within this research area. The candidate will be part of a research team, that aims at understanding mechanisms involved in disease metabolic conditions of risks for development of pancreatic and liver cancer. Disease-specific markers will be investigated to develop diagnostic methods and individualized therapeutic strategies to improve human health.
The post doctoral fellow to be recruited to the project will be part of a multidisciplinary team and are expected to take active part in collaborative efforts, in line with the overall aims of this project. The studies will require methodological skills - from handling of human blood to biopsies for cell sorting, single cell functional analysis including in situ microscopy staining and imaging analysis, to collaborating with team members with background in molecular biology and metagenomics. The project is suitable for highly motivated researchers in molecular life sciences, especially those who have already substantial experience with advanced flow cytometry, and is familiar with oral microbiota studies, and the related workflow analysis resources.
Entry requirements
To qualify the applicant must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign qualification equivalent to a doctorate. A PhD in life science or medical science on infection immunology is preferred. He or she should have excellent organisational competence, writing and presentation skills. Applicants must have excellent communication skills in English and knowledge in Swedish.
