The Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM) is a department at Karolinska Institutet and an interdisciplinary research institution within the broad field of environmental medicine. IMM conducts cutting edge research within the areas of environmental and occupational medicine, toxicology, physiology, epidemiology, and biostatistics with the aim to clarify how environmental and lifestyle factors affect our health and which role genes have. IMM also serves as a scientific advisor to public authorities within the area of environmental medicine and IMM scientists participate in national and international expert groups.

Division

The Unit of Biostatistics aims to contribute toward solving health problems and disseminating knowledge and culture of biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet and worldwide. Research, teaching, and collaboration with other researchers are essential parts of its mission. The Unit was established in 2010 at IMM and is responsible for the Karolinska Institutet Biostatistics Core Facility. The Unit seeks one or two new postdoctoral researchers. The positions are for one year with the possibility of extensions.

Duties

The new postdoc will carry out research and develop as a researcher in statistics/biostatistics. The topic of the research is open. Topics in areas of interest to other members at the Unit of Biostatistics are preferred. The Unit of Biostatistics and Karolinska Instituet can provide excellent support and an ideal environment for the new postdoc to thrive. The new postdoc will be offered the opportunity to be involved in other activities of the Unit of Biostatistics and of the Karolinska Institutet Biostatistics Core Facility.



Entry requirements

A person is eligible to be appointed if he or she has been awarded a Degree of Doctor or has achieved the corresponding scientific competence, and is able to demonstrate skills and experience in the fields of statistics/biostatistics. The persons appointed should primarily be the ones who have been granted a Degree of Doctor or have reached the corresponding competence no more than seven years before the end of the application period.
